Those two words are my story once I shifted from my old and boring PC to this spruced up upgraded CPU. I guess everyone read my upgrading news. Well, everything was great until I started to work on Ubuntu again. I was looking forward to using XGL and have fun with it but unfortunately my motherboard had some other plans. I have nforce drivers for my in-built ethernet card and graphics card but they are as good as useless because I simply can’t install them in my computer because of damned reasons. I have great hopes for Suse as I am gonna try that next if that doesn’t, I may have to wait till there is some proper solution to my problem other than compiling my own kernel.

If compiling your own kernel is the way to go for a solution, do that, teaches a lot

Hope Suse does something

Did you try downloading those packages and try? That day I had to go away so couldn’t finish helping you. I guess there will be a way out. And maybe compiling a kernel can help. It is not so difficult believe me. Everyone feels apprehensive about it at first cos it sounds like something geeky and time consuming but it is not.

Hey bro !
Howz you been doing? Its been long…Neway I use PCLinuxOS i don’t know if it will come in ur liking category! But even i have a nForce based motherboard and its a breeze. All i gotta do is got to the Synaptic Respietory and download and install the nforce Package. Which includes all things related to my motherboard which gets automatically detected. I have ever install Ubuntu ever, Just run it with Live Cd’s but try out PCLinuxOS its just simple. Very windows Like in many ways. And It gives u the Choice to do thigs the Geeky way or just the Normal Windows Click-it-e-Click-Click Way!
Cheers!

Actually the main problem is that I can’t use net when using linux as my ethernet also needs the nforce drivers.
