To Speak or not to Speak

Posted by karthiksn

In my class some days ago, we had a disscussion about the topic “Speech is better than writing or not”. It was then, it came to my notice that people really have forogtten the importance of writing. I saw kids saying this and that about speaking but only very few(three to be exact including me) where talking that writing is important. I know that both are important but I was shocked to see how people blindly believed that speaking was more important than writing. I was thnking what if our historians never wrote the history or recorded it, all our history might have been just some fairytale told to us by our grand-mothers. Very few of them did believe that both are important but weren’t able to explain why.

It was like they forgot that their languages would have been non-existent, if there were no script for it. I believe that soon people will stop using pen and paper but still the scripts of all languages will live on in the computers.  I guess we do soon realize that if we neglect writing we might not be having good times ahead.

These are debates which have got infinitive value of debation :P [If that made sense ]

I hate these debates that make wth no sense at all. Like ‘Science is boon or bane’, bleh, never ends. Both sides of literature are as important as the necessity of eyes and mouth to survive properly.

Both are ways of communication. We can’t say one of them is superior over the other. Each have its one merits, I will not say it have demerits because at most of the times you can the other way to overcome the shortcomings of one type.
