Google Spreadsheets Review

First of all sorry for not posting for so long. I have got busy with my studies so don’t expect more than 3 or 4 posts a month for this year.

Topics are very rare which I like to discuss but my all time favourite is Google making some new software or giving us some AJAX application to use. The latest one in their line is Google Spreadsheets. If there is anyone who doesn’t know what a spreadsheet is then the simplest example would Microsoft Excel. Now this can be said as one of those pioneer applications which will introduce a revolution. A small info

Ban on right to express

Tamilnadu Govt bans the screening of Da Vinci Code which was slated to release on June 2nd.

Da Vinci Code is a work of fiction; still, many people take it upon themselves to make the work a religious controversy. Everyone has a right to express himself or herself in the free world. Movie and entertainment are forms of art. These forms of art should not be mixed with religious sentiments as they are meant to entertain the audience and not to disrupt the peace and harmony. Still we can see so many cases where people have linked the movie with their religious sentiments. The book itself was banned in many countries. The book is written by Dan Brown and books are supposed to be entertaining. Most books are works of fiction still people have protested against the book.

Not screening the film in many parts of the country leads to other problems such as piracy. As the film is not screened people tend to get the pirated copies of the movie and watch the film. As the film has created, no actually people have created controversies over the film so it makes the film more worthwhile to watch. The ban has done nothing but increase the interest of the people in the movie and this has given rise to piracy which is one of the problems faced by the film-makers nowadays.

We have seen such controversies in Indian cinemas also which was related to politics and regionalism.
