I havent blogged for three days now. So I thought I will give the reasons. Firstly I hate my connection so when Dataone introduced there new Unlimited plan I ran to get it and applied for plan change soon I will be on unlimited 256kb internet. Other than this I had been resolving problems in and about Ubuntu 5.10. It was running too slow so i was advised by Mehul to switch to XCFE window manager which was light on resources and it helped a lot.

Now after that I had completed downloading Fedora Core 5 so went on to install it on my PC that is when I forgot to give any instructions in GRUB boot loader. So mehul helped me figure all that out. It was tough (it was easy actually i made it tough) and took lot of my time.I am really now-a-days too bored to even think of any posts yeah i have an allpeers review post lined up though i forget to complete it so u might see it soon.

Malayalees in Chennai

Posted by karthiksn

Now while talking about the topic I am specific about which malayalees I am talking. I am talking about the malayalee actors and actresses who have houses in chennai. Most of the people in malayalam film industry have a house in chennai. You can see many of them too going here and there. I feel the one malayalee actor I have seen the most is Jairam who has been seen at many places. Now he is also a star in the tamil pictures same as he is a star in malayalam pictures one can see him at malayalee functions (not marriages) and at theatres having malayalam films. I saw him twice this way now what I was curious about was where he lives and out of my curiosity the only thing I learnt was that Jairam’s car number is TN 10-H-5200 . So next time when you are in chennai and if you see a car with this number plate remember its a star’s car.

Thuruppugulan(Malayalam) Review

Posted by karthiksn

The movie starts with a scene of a typical malayalee “thatukada” (tea stall), in the tea stall innocent is making tea and then he sees someone selling the land on which his tea stall is to someone else. He says he has no objection as he is selling the land to a very good guy who also happens to be a great friend of his. We see how “kuchumon” (that is the name of mammootty the hero of the film) hits a local rowdy and then how his Dad sends him to Kozhikode so he odes not end up in any trouble. After reaching to Kozhikode he tries his luck on cards and bets on jack and wins triple Jack (hence the name Thuruppugulan). The movie is only comedy-action without much focusing on story. But we had to expect this from mammootty after his performance in Rajamanickyam which proved out to be successful. Mammootty had been branded the name of serious-action hero which he wants to change desperately hence these films. These films are total entertainers but you could have never expected such films in Malayalam cinema which gives less importance to story and more to comedy but this has been the trend recently. The movie stars many known faces like innocent, harishri Ashokan and the other main thing about the film was Sneha the tamil heroine. First it was Malayalam heroines to Tamil and now its Tamil heroines to Malayalam. The character that mammootty plays is of an young guy who is child-like he wants to be a great bharatnatyam dancer and whose habits are also child-like but when it comes to fights he is much ahead of everyone in that. We see many twist and turns in the film which all result to an obvious climax. I can’t say the movie is a must watch but if you like comedies which are nothing but comedies then you can surely like this movie.

Crash(2004) Review

Posted by karthiksn

I know the movie is old but it was released here some days ago and I went to see it on the meet.

The movie is one of those English movies which makes you think of what we do. Racial discrimination is something common here too and so it is in America and some European countries. The movie starts with how a one lady hits the car of another lady who is a cop and they start fighting and the cop’s colleague goes to investigate something with fellow officers nearby and then we go into a flashback. The stories inside stories tell you about all the different races in America other than white and how they suffer racial discrimination. Stories of different people are intervened into each other. The stories tend to get confusing in short while but then it’s the theme of the story and its supposed to be like that. The film has a district attorney worried of loosing his black votes and a wife who is paranoid about anyone other than white. There is a Persian scared about his shop. There is a lock repairer scared of people shooting here and there. There are two cons one who is good at heart and another one who considers every gesture from a white guy is a show of racial discrimination. There is a black cop looking for his brother and not caring about his mother and a white cop who is too harsh with blacks and has a Dad with problems of his own. The cop has a partner who has no grudge against blacks and hates his partner. They all end up doing different things. The racialist cop ends up saving a black women he molested and his partner ends up killing a black just because he thought he was about to shoot him. The stories are of all different people whose stories coincide with each other. It’s a must watch movie. I would love to give it 9.5/10 which I say is the highest I will ever give to a English movie.

Check here for its imdb information.

Rules, Rules, RULES !!

Posted by karthiksn

Yeah I am fed up with those words now. We have rules for anything we do in this world. When we are in school we have rules, in colleges we have rules and in offices too we have rules and what happens to us we end up being rule abiding puppets. Its terrible though the rules get less strict as we grow up but they still remain. When we become old are kids will tell us how to live. We have to follow most of the rules and breaking it leads to many problems. But I never said we don’t break it. I am always caught by authorities because of my *ahem* great behavior. I am too wild to be contained. So are many of the other guys. We break most of the rules including the traffic rules which earns us a fine but rarely anyone cares. When people get sick of rules they retaliate and I have been doing that for long time. I know that it is wrong to break rules but sometimes it happens without you knowing it. I don’t say everyone should do that but no one should be constricted by the rope of rules. One should always loosen it and become different. They say charity begins at home and so does rules. When you are a small kid they don’t do this and don’t do that and we start are rule following from there. But some stand out and start the revolts right from that time. I mean those naughty kids we see (I was not one). So you see there are rules everywhere and you have to follow them whatsoever or simply find the loopholes in it and exploit it. Try to live free for there will be a day when will have specific rules even regarding our own death. Now you should take care that never happens.

This is a bit lame post but I guess this is needed sometimes
